Management Team

Mario Martín is Telxius’ CEO since January 2018. With over 29 years of experience, Mario joined Telefónica in 1996 and has held since several executive positions within the Group, such as Global Director of Industrial Alliances, Asia Chief Regional Officer and Deputy General Manager in the M&A department. Prior to joining Telefonica, he held management positions at Argentaria and Kodak. Mario holds a Business Administration degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an MBA by ESC Nantes Atlantic, France.

Rafael Arranz is Telxius COO, Cable Business. With over 27 years of experience, Rafael has held several executive positions in commercial and business areas within the Telefonica Group, such as Executive Vice-president of Capacity & IP sales. Rafael holds a Telecom engineering degree from Madrid’s Polytechnic University. He is based in USA since 2016.

Antonio Ledesma is Telxius CFO since 2016. With over 26 years of experience, Antonio is the former Director of Corporate Development and Responsible of the CEO’s Office of at Telefónica Europe, among other executive responsibilities within the Telefónica Group, which he joined in 2002. He started his career at J.P Morgan in the Investment Banking area. Antonio holds an Economics degree from the University of Salamanca and MBA from IESE Business School.

Irene Lauzurica is Telxius Chief Legal Officer (CLO). After more than 22 years in the legal industry, she has consolidated her experience in a variety of projects, noteworthy among which are those in the fields of international M&A, contract law and corporate governance. Irene joined Telxius in 2017, where she has spearheaded, among others, the M&A projects related to Telxius' growth process. Before joining the Telefónica Group, her career involved roles in national and international companies in the infrastructure sector (IBEX 35). Irene holds a law degree from the University of Navarra and a Masters of Laws (LLM) from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.

Carlos Dasi is Telxius CTO. With over 36 years of experience, Carlos joined Telxius from Telefónica Business Solutions in April 2016, where he had held the position of IP & Capacity Operations Director since October 2013. In his role as CTO of Telxius, Carlos is leading the management of the entire technology portfolio including planning, design, development and implementation of strategy and operations activities. He is responsible for Capacity and IP networks, cable systems (e.g. SAm-1, Unisur and PCCS), as well as the latest subsea cable systems in Telxius, including Marea, Brusa and recently Mistral and Tikal. Carlos holds a degree in IT Engineering and began his Telecoms career at Telefónica de España in 1988. He has extensive experience in the Telco business, holding many different positions for both, American and European markets, including Customer Service Operations, Post-sales for Carriers and OTTs, as well NOC and SOC management. Carlos is also a music lover and a strong supporter of Atlético de Madrid.

Carlos Casado is Telxius Northern Region Sales VP. With over 27 years of experience in the telecoms field, including project management, business development, sales and marketing. Carlos has been involved in the submarine cable business since 2003. He was responsible for the Capacity Services Business line in Telefonica International Wholesale Services until 2016, when he joined Telxius as Head of EMEA Business development. Carlos was promoted in 2021 to Vice President Sales North Region, where he covers North America and EMEA countries. Prior to his career in the submarine cable industry, he worked for different companies of the Telefonica Group in Italy and at the Representation Office of the EU in Brussels. Carlos holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Complutense University of Madrid, and has post-graduate qualifications in telecommunications, business, and management from ICADE, UPM and ESADE.

Piedad Garcia-Manso is Telxius Chief Audit Officer. With over 31 years of experience, Piedad is the former Director of Internal Audit of Business and Financial Processes at Telefónica. Prior to that, she held other Audit positions, such as Audit Manager at KPMG. Piedad holds a Business Administration degree (E2) from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, ICADE, (Madrid).

Miguel Echavarría is Telxius CAO. With over 30 years of experience in the telecoms industry and 4 years of experience in the oil industry, Miguel is the former HR Director of Corporate Center and Global Resources at Telefónica. During his career he has held several HR, Processes and Commercial positions in Spain, Argentina and Ecuador, in international companies such as Telefónica, BellSouth and Astra. Miguel holds a HR degree from Universidad del Salvador (Argentina) and MBA in IDE (Ecuador).
